Lentil Burgers with Whole Wheat Buns & Yogurt Sauce
The first time I tried a lentil burger that truly satisfied me, I was in Wellington, New Zealand, at a small cafe called 'Midnight Espresso' in 2010. I remember the earthy aroma mixing with the salty sea air. I had been struggling to find vegetarian options that weren't just afterthoughts, and this burger was a revelation. This recipe captures that experience – the hearty texture, the savory depth, and the satisfying feeling of a truly nourishing meal. You'll learn how to coax maximum flavor from simple ingredients, creating a burger that even meat-eaters will crave. Prepare for a burger that’s not just good for you, but genuinely delicious.

0Chef's Tip
For extra flavor, caramelize the onions slowly over low heat. Don't rush the process; the sweetness will enhance the overall taste of the burger.
